Native 412 About Us

My family arrived here as refugees in Pittsburgh in June 1975 from Vietnam. I was born in Pittsburgh at McGee Women’s Hospital on a cold blizzard night in 1976.

I've been designing and printing t-shirts since I was 16 years old. This brand started organically in 1996 as something fun to do and to recognize Pittsburgh instead of saying Pittsburgh on a shirt.  Over the years, it has come to mean much more.  Every clothing design, artwork, and article has been done with thoughtfulness, passion, pride, and meticulousness. Pittsburgh is forever my home and my muse.

(Picture above: This was my family and I at Kennywood in the early 80s. I’m the little kid sitting on my dad’s lap. I was on cloud 9 on the kiddie rides that day).

" Pittsburgh, my inspiration, a printed story since '96,

Native 412, more than just a place, my identifier.

It's my canvas, a special space for creation.

In the city's embrace, my care extends,

For the community, my love radiates."
